THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Several train services will be cancelled, partially cancelled or delayed on select days in September and October due to track maintenance works, according to railway authorities.
The Kannur–Ernakulam Junction Intercity Express (Train No. 16306) will be short-terminated at Thrissur on September 25, 27 and 29, and October 2, 4, 6, 9, 11 and 13. The service between Thrissur and Ernakulam Junction will remain cancelled on these dates as part of track maintenance works in the Thiruvananthapuram division.
In the Palakkad division, the Coimbatore–Shoranur Passenger (Train No. 56603) will be fully cancelled on September 20. The train will also be short-terminated at Lakkiti on September 25 and October 3, with the service between Lakkiti and Shoranur Junction remaining cancelled on those dates.
The Shoranur–Coimbatore Passenger (Train No. 56604) will be fully cancelled on September 20 and 29. The train, scheduled to depart Shoranur Junction at 8.20 am, will also be rescheduled to 8.50 am on September 22 and October 1, resulting in a 30-minute delay.
Several other services in the Palakkad division will also face operational changes. The Tiruchchirappalli–Palakkad Town Express (Train No. 16843) will be short-terminated at Podanur Junction on September 9, 14 and 16, with the Podanur–Palakkad Town section cancelled. The Palakkad Town–Tiruchchirappalli Express (Train No. 16844) will originate from Podanur Junction instead of Palakkad Town on September 10, 15 and 17.
The Palakkad Junction–Nilambur Road Passenger (Train No. 56607) will originate from Shoranur Junction instead of Palakkad Junction on September 20 and 29, with the Palakkad–Shoranur section cancelled.
The Mangaluru Central–Chennai Central West Coast Express (Train No. 22638) will be regulated by 45 minutes on September 6, 8, 10 and 13.
The Hazrat Nizamuddin–Ernakulam Junction Mangala Lakshadweep Superfast Express (Train No. 12618) will be regulated by 45 minutes on September 5 and 12.
The Alappuzha–Kannur Express (Train No. 16307) will be regulated by 30 minutes on October 3, while the Ernakulam Junction–Palakkad Junction MEMU (Train No. 66610) will be regulated by 35 minutes on September 25 and October 3.
Passengers travelling on the affected dates have been advised to check the latest train schedule and status before commencing their journey and plan their travel accordingly.
