SAWARIYA MURDER CASE

HARIPAD: SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellappally Natesan demanded a central agency probe into the murder of medical student Sawariya Basant. He was speaking after visiting Sawariya's house in Haripad and interacting with her family members.

“Sawariya was brutally beaten to death in Uzbekistan by a classmate from Malappuram. The family members suspect that the murder was related to religious conversion. The culprits should be punished. It is also suspected that many students, including Malayalees, were taken to this medical college with the intervention of some people from Kerala. Since the incident took place abroad, the state police have limitations.” Vellappally also demanded that an investigation be conducted to find out whether there were any other conspiracies or organised influences behind the crime.

Karthikappally Union President K. Ashoka Panicker, Secretary Adv. Rajesh Chandran, Karunagappally Union Secretary A. Somarajan, Pandalam Union President Adv. Sinil Mundapalli, Pooyappally Murali, P. Murali, Preman and branch office bearers were also present with Vellapally.
