Woman pillion rider killed in wild elephant attack near Meppadi

KALPETTA: Another life has been lost in an elephant attack in the state on Tuesday. A woman, identified as Jessy, a native of Puthumala, was killed by the tusker at Meppadi. The attack occurred while she was pillion riding a scooter with her husband, Shaji. Shaji was also seriously injured in the attack. Forest department officials reached the spot and started proceedings.

On Monday, a person died in a wild elephant attack in Kothamangalam, Ernakulam. The victim was Pushpakaran Vellakayaan of Ponganchuvadu, Kothamangalam. Pushpakaran had gone to collect some fruits from the forest when a wild elephant attacked him. He was admitted to the hospital, but his life could not be saved.
