‘How did Sugathan become a goon? police action is just a dog show’; R Sreelekha reacts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former DGP and Vattiyoorkavu councillor R Sreelekha reacted to the incident of arresting R Sugathan, Vazhottukonam ward councillor. She shared a post on Facebook asking how Sugathan became a goon.

Multiple police cases were registered against Sugathan as he questioned the illegal activities in Vattiyoorkavu and stood for the local residents. She claimed that these cases were registered at the behest of CPM leaders and that voters were fully aware of this when they elected him in the local body elections.

She further alleged that Vattiyoorkavu SHO Vipin was transferred from Chengannur to Vattiyoorkavu before the elections by the Pinarayi government with the sole objective of ensuring the victory of V K Prasanth for a third term. She alleged that a heavily armed police team arrived at his house occupied by only four people, intimidating family members, including two children, and creating an atmosphere of fear. She also criticized the police action and termed it as just a dog show.
