KOCHI: Actress Ansiba Hassan has clarified her recent remarks regarding actor Ramesh Pisharody, refuting media reports alleging she criticised him during a press conference over an ongoing dispute involving actor Tini Tom. In a detailed statement shared on social media with the caption "Please do not spread factual inaccuracies," the actress emphasised that Pisharody was merely acting as a mediator and conveying a message rather than targeting her.

The controversy erupted after Ansiba stated at a press conference that Pisharody had contacted her multiple times requesting a written apology to resolve an issue with Tini Tom. At the time, she had questioned the justification of the demand, asking if they were living in a lawless state. Clarifying her stance, Ansiba stated that her comments were misinterpreted by the media.

In her clarification note, Ansiba stated that it had come to her attention that some media outlets were reporting that she blamed Ramesh Pisharody, who had sincerely taken the initiative to reconcile the matter with Tini Tom. She clarified that this was completely untrue and that Pisharody had only informed her of the written apology requested by Tini Tom. She added that she fully respects his sincere efforts to mediate the issue as a colleague and an organisation representative, and urged the media to stop circulating misleading reports.

The initial press conference was held in Kochi, where Ansiba was accompanied by actresses Usha Haseena, Maala Parvathi, and Maya Viswanath. Apart from the personal dispute, Ansiba also spoke extensively about the internal rifts within the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA).

Ansiba alleged that the committee presided over by actress Shwetha Menon was forced to step down due to financial irregularities. She pointed out that the committee's financial report failed to clear the association's general body meeting, further questioning how the general body could accept or recognise a committee facing allegations of financial misconduct as an ad-hoc committee.
