'Didn't want to promote that movie, glad that it flopped', says Tovino Thomas

Young Malayalam cinestar Tovino Thomas is awaiting the release of his new movie ‘Pallichattambi’ in the coming days. The film's promotional activities, planned at a pan-Indian level, are also in full swing. The promotional event held in Hyderabad the other day became a big topic of discussion on social media. Tovino's response to a question from a journalist about Kerala Story 2 made it into the headlines.

The journalist asked the star why he kept silent during the release of the controversial film Kerala Story 2. When the first part of Kerala Story was released, Tovino was among the few film stars who implicitly protested against the movie. Tovino responded that he felt the need to react in that way against a film that showed the state in a poor light.

“It was my duty to tell the world that the real story was unlike what was propagated by the movie. That is why I shared such a post against Kerala Story. But I decided not to do it for the second part. The decision was taken to avoid giving any sort of mouth publicity to that movie. Look at what happened. The movie flopped terribly. Such films should end up like that,” said Tovino Thomas.
