
ALAPPUZHA: The Human Rights Commission (HRC) has registered a case in the incident of sexually assaulting a woman involved in a car accident. The district police chief has to submit a report within 15 days. The investigation team will record the complainant's statement again in the incident. Kayamkulam DySP is in charge of the investigation. Based on the statement, more sections will be imposed against the accused Sinil Savad.
The Mavelikkara Magistrate will record the confidential statement of the survivor. The woman is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram due to the injuries to her leg, shoulder and jaw in the accident. The accused Sinil Savad, who was the president of the Kayamkulam unit of the Kerala Vyapaari Vyavasaya Ekopana Samiti, has been suspended from the primary membership of the organization by state president Raju Apsara.
The accident happened on April 4 at Kayamkulam KPAC junction when the auto she was travelling in along with her friend and family hit a median while they returning from Malayattoor. Sinil along with others helped to shift them to a hospital.
The woman said as she had difficulty in walking, he under the guise of helping her, put his hands inside her clothes and assaulted her. He continued the act until she got into the vehicle. When she was admitted in the Kayamkulam Taluk Hospital, he came there also. The woman was not able to talk properly. The accused threatened her, ‘You have no complaint about the incident that happened. Get a reference from here as soon as possible and go to your hometown.’
She revealed the incident to the employee who was in the X-Ray room. She asked her to inform the police. Following the accident, she could not talk and had difficulty in breathing. However, she did not lose consciousness. The woman said that she clearly remembers everything that happened there.
