KOCHI: The High Court sought an explanation from the government on a petition seeking an extension of the deadline for uploading the mark list for the CBSE Class 12th examination. The request is for an extension of the currently scheduled date of June 7. Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas considered the petition filed by Dr Indira Rajan on behalf of the 'Council of CBSE Schools Kerala' and the students who had applied for revaluation.

The CBSE has shifted the evaluation of Plus Two examination papers to the on-screen marking system from this year. Following widespread complaints against its shortcomings, the board gave an opportunity till June 6 to apply for revaluation. In the meantime, the Kerala Entrance Examination Commissioner issued a notification that the Class 12 marks should be uploaded by June 7.

The situation is that the mark list before the revaluation results needs to be uploaded. Even a small increase in marks through revaluation will affect the rank. This is why the demand is being made to extend the time for uploading the marks. The matter will be considered again on Tuesday.
