SSLC, HSC exam results on third week of May; evaluation begins

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Education Minister V Sivankutty informed that the SSLC and Higher Secondary exam results will be announced in the third week of May. The minister also clarified in the press meet that the announcement of the results is being delayed because teachers were given the responsibility of elections. The minister clarified that tuition classes will not be allowed during the vacations in the backdrop of the rising temperature in the state.


The evaluation of SSLC and Higher Secondary exam papers began today. The reorganized evaluation began today in the backdrop of the assembly elections. It was earlier scheduled to be conducted from April 6 to 25. In the meantime, the dates for the evaluation were changed due to the elections, Good Friday, Vishu, etc.


The evaluation will be held in three phases. The first phase will be from April 16 to 18, the second phase from April 20 to 25, and the third phase from April 27 to May 2. About 20,000 teachers are conducting the evaluation in 89 camps in the state.


This year, 4,17,497 lakh students wrote the SSLC exam. About 36 lakh SSLC exam papers need to be evaluated. 10,500 teachers are involved in the evaluation of class 10 alone. In higher secondary, about 80 lakh papers of 8.7 lakh students need to be evaluated. In VHSC, 30,000 students wrote the exam.


The SSLC exam ended on March 30. The Plus Two exam was held from March 6 to 28. About nine lakh students wrote the exam in the first and second years of higher secondary.
