PATHANAMTHITTA: A complaint has been filed against a KSRTC employee for allegedly beating a woman with a stick. The incident took place at the Adoor bus stand in Pathanamthitta. According to reports, the woman had come to the bus stand to seek alms when she was beaten by an employee named R Venu.

According to Adoor police, the bus stand and its surrounding areas have been declared no-begging zones. Police said the woman was allegedly assaulted while she was being asked to leave the area for begging. Venu also works in a supervisory role, police added. Following the incident, the woman approached the police station and lodged a complaint. She later sought treatment at the General Hospital.

Meanwhile, KSRTC authorities have denied the allegations, stating that the woman was only asked to leave the area as it falls under a no-begging zone. Police said the complainant is a native of Andhra Pradesh who has been staying at Thamarakkulam in Alappuzha for the past few months. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
