THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC President K. Sudhakaran stated that if the UDF fails to come to power, Opposition Leader V.D. Satheesan will have to enter political "vanavaas" (exile). Speaking to the media in Pathanamthitta, Sudhakaran remarked that if Satheesan is a leader who keeps his word, he will be compelled to go into exile as previously announced. Sudhakaran added, "We can only pray that such a situation does not arise."
This response followed media queries regarding V.D. Satheesan’s earlier declaration that he would quit active politics if the UDF failed to secure at least 100 seats in the assembly elections. Sudhakaran noted that while Satheesan would be bound by his word, the prospect of his departure is a matter of great concern for the party.
Despite these comments, Sudhakaran expressed immense confidence in a UDF victory, predicting the front could win up to 130 seats. He also reaffirmed his stance that Ramesh Chennithala should be appointed Chief Minister if the UDF is voted to power.
