‘Humble plea with folded hands, only one name for CM’s post’; Actor Siddique urges congress to pick V D Satheesan

Actor Siddique has urged the Congress leadership to consider V D Satheesan as Kerala’s next chief minister.

In a Facebook post, Siddique wrote that no one else should reach the position through group politics or backstabbing amid the power tussle within the UDF. He also said that apart from V D Satheesan, he could not even imagine Rahul Gandhi as chief minister.

V D Satheesan was the only leader who confidently declared that the UDF would win more than 100 seats in the election or he would go into political exile. He described Satheesan as a leader who does not bow before communal leaders, does not yield to threats, stands firm on his positions, and upholds secular values.

Every ordinary person here firmly believed that he would become our next chief minister. Do not destroy that faith, Siddique wrote.

While we are immensely happy about the resounding victory achieved by the Congress party and the United Democratic Front in this Assembly election, all of us are slightly worried about one thing.

You may believe that the main reason behind this victory was the opposition to Pinarayi Vijayan and his anti-people policies, but do not forget that this victory also came from the strong belief that there is a capable leader to guide us.

In this election, there was only one leader who boldly declared that the UDF would come to power by winning more than 100 seats, or else he would go into political exile. A leader who does not bow before communal forces, does not surrender to threats, remains firm in his stand, and upholds secularism.

Every ordinary citizen here believed that he would be our next chief minister.

Do not break that faith.

Amid power struggles, no one else should come to that position through group games and betrayal.

We will neither tolerate nor forgive it.

No matter what justifications are given, we will not believe them.

We cannot even imagine anyone other than V D Satheesan not even Rahul Gandhi as chief minister.

The Congress leadership should not consider only the opinions of party leaders here, but also understand the aspirations of the people and take an appropriate decision. Otherwise, the backlash will be beyond your expectations.

This is the humble plea of an ordinary Congress supporter who has stood with the party since childhood and still carries K Karunakaran and Oommen Chandy in his heart.
For the post of Chief Minister, there is only one name V D Satheesan.
