
The heat is increasing dangerously in Palakkad district. The ultraviolet index has been reported as four in the past few days. The UV index is relatively high in higher areas. Extreme heat has also been recorded in areas with surfaces such as water bodies and sand that reflect ultraviolet rays. The highest temperature in February was 34 degrees. Last year, the same time it was recorded as high as 38 degrees.
With the summer heat, the temperature may increase this time too. It is reported that the temperature is increasing both at night and during the day. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning about the possibility of sunstroke. The District Labour Officer (Enforcement) has earlier instructed workers working outside to make adjustments in their working hours.
