Harshina ends strike as Health minister gives assurance

gg

KOZHIKODE: Harshina, who protested outside Kozhikode medical college demanding justice in the incident where scissors got stuck in her stomach after delivery, has called off her strike. The decision was taken after a discussion with the Health minister. Harshina said that the minister assured her that she will be given compensation. “It needs to find out the hospital which the scissor belonged to. I will continue the legal battle.”, responded Harshina. She said that she is standing because of her inner strength and not because she is healthy. Harshina was protesting in front of the hospital for the last six days.

The Health minister assured that action will be taken within two weeks. The minister said that the government is with Harshina. “I haven’t seen the last report. There is no facility in Kerala to determine the age of a scissor.’, said Veena George. She clarified that the government stance has been informed to Harshina.
