Live in partner held for suicide of woman 

KOZHIKODE: A youth staying with a woman of Kayakodi, has been arrested in connection with her suicide. The police arrested Muhammed Amal of Mavoor. Police said the youth is addicted to drugs.

A case has been registered presently under the sections of rape, abetment of suicide and SC-ST. The police said the role of drug dealers in the incident will be probed.

The State Scheduled Caste Commission has sought a report on the woman's death. The commission directed the district police chief to submit a report within a week after investigation. The commission said that further action will be taken after examining the report.

The woman aged 23 was found hanging on June 13 at their rented house in Kozhikode. Her father had demanded to probe the role of the youth, who was staying with her and alleged mystery in the incident.
