27-year-old woman's mysterious death; husband arrested

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In one peculiar case, a man has been arrested in the case of the mysterious death of his wife who earlier committed suicide by hanging. Naufiya, a native of Chanthavila was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Saturday. And now, adding a more convoluting twist to the case, her husband Rauhiz Khan was arrested.

It was only after a complaint from Naufiya’s brother that the police delved deep into the case and arrested her husband Rauhiz Khan. It is found that Khan used to torture Naufiya frequently and it is assumed that it was under this constant threat of abuse that Naufiya decided to end her life. The couple has three children and the family were living in a warehouse portion of their ancestral home for many years.
