BJP performs pooja inside LP School; protests CPM

KOZHIKODE: The CPM staged a protest march against the pooja performed inside a school. The incident happened last night at Nedumannur LP School near Kuttiady in Kozhikode. The pooja was performed in the presence of BJP workers in the area. It is believed that a team led by Rudheesh, son of Aruna, the school manager is behind it.

CPM workers and locals protested after knowing it. The police came and calmed the situation. The CPM and DYFI informed that they will stage a march to the school today to protest the incident.

When the locals reached the school after seeing lights and vehicles in the ground at night, saw a pooja going on. Soon, CPM workers came and stopped the pooja. As more locals came and protested, it ended in a clash. Following this, those who performed the pooja were taken into custody and released on station bail.

The explanation of the school authorities in the incident is that pooja is conducted in schools normally on the occasion of Mahanavami, but as it was canceled, ganapati homam was performed.
