kk

WAYANAD: A student of Wayanad Pookode Government Veterinary College hanged himself in the bathroom of the hostel. The deceased is Siddharthan (20), a native of Nedumangad. Siddharthan is the elder son of Kurakkode native Jayaprakash and Sheeba.

It was the fellow students who found Siddharthan hanging from the ventilator in the bathroom yesterday afternoon. Although he was rushed to the Vythiri Taluk Hospital, he was soon declared dead. He was a second-year BVSC&AH student. Meanwhile, Siddharthan's parents have lodged a complaint with the police alleging that there was a mystery over the incident that their son, who had set out to home on a train on February 15, got down in Ernakulam and returned to college at night. The parents also demanded that the other students should be interrogated. The body has been handed over to the relatives after the post-mortem. The funeral will take place at 9:30 am in Kurakkod.
