THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The father of Thalassery native Avinash, whose wallet was found near the precinct where a human skeleton was found in the Kariavattom campus, reached Kazhakootam police station on Saturday and responded to the issue.

“Without a DNA test, it is not possible to say whether the skeleton belongs to my son.” Avinash Anand's father Anand Krishna said that there was no information about his son after 2017. The police conducted an investigation focusing on the wallet and driving license found on the spot where the human skeleton was seen.

Police are now taking information from Avinash’s father after calling him up to Kazhakootam police station. In the driving license found near the premise of the water tank inside the campus, the address was written as Kannur Thalassery ‘Sri Vilas’. From the forensic test conducted, it was found that the man who died in the water tank last had a shirt and pants as his attire.

A bag, cap, glasses and tie were also found in the water tank. The deceased is suspected to be an IT professional. The police doubt that the man might have committed suicide from a tree near the premises, and the body might have fallen on the ground and completely decomposed over the years.

Avinash's parents and brother are settled in Chennai and they have been detached from Kerala for years. Avinash last appeared before his relatives in 2017 and was never to be seen again.
