THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two personal staff members of Health Minister K Muraleedharan resigned even before completing two months in the new job. Additional Private Secretary Sreelal and Assistant Private Secretary Govindaraj tendered their resignation unexpectedly. The duo blamed excessive workload for their decision.

Meanwhile, there are indications that the sudden resignation is due to differences of opinion among the higher-ups in the minister's office. There is also a strong allegation that the decision of the personal staff members is due to the fact that the private secretary to the health minister, Dr D. Sunil, exercising excessive authority over other staff. There are also rumours that a dispute with another additional private secretary of K Muraleedharan is behind the resignation.

Sources close to the two staff members who resigned indicate that they were unable to work in the office due to discrimination and power struggles. The government issued an order relieving the two who submitted their resignations from official duties.
