THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government is set to strictly enforce the minimum age requirement for purchasing alcohol. Under the existing rule, only people aged 23 and above are allowed to buy liquor, and the government now plans to ensure that this rule is followed more strictly. The proposal is currently under the consideration of the Chief Minister. The government is planning to introduce a system similar to the one followed in Karnataka.

As part of the new measures, a "No ID, No Entry" policy will be implemented in Kerala. Customers will be required to produce a document proving their age in order to purchase alcohol.
