VD Satheesan rejects SDPI support, welcomes individual voters

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Amid the ongoing debates regarding UDF and LDF getting support from SDPI, Opposition Leader VD Satheesan said that UDF will not accept SDPI support. Speaking at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram along with MM Hassanm, Satheesan said that majority and minority communalism are the same.

"Anyone can vote for UDF. Communalism is the same, be it from the majority or minority. Their support will not be accepted. The same is the case with SDPI. The Chief Minister and the BJP have become friends again. The Chief Minister's complaint is that there was no flag in the Wayanad road show when Rahul Gandhi came the other day. The Chief Minister need not give us a study class on how to campaign. Our campaign mode is not decided by the AKG Centre," Satheesan said.

"Now Pinarayi Vijayan is doing what BJP did in the last election. CM is doing this to make the BJP happy. They became part of the INDIA bloc so that they do not lose their party symbol and at the same time make room for the BJP to make them happy," Satheesan alleged.

MM Hassan also responded to the criticism that the Congress flag was not used in the road show held in Kalpetta when Rahul Gandhi came to submit his nomination papers. "This is a deliberate decision taken by the party and the UDF. Last time it was BJP that tried to cook up a discussion on this. This time it is the Chief Minister who is making it a debate," he said.
