Man injured in gunda attack dies in Wayanad

PULPALLY: A Wayanad native, who suffered injuries in a quotation gang attack, died on Wednesday. Nadakuzhakkal Jose (77), a farmer and a resident of Pulpally is the deceased. The incident took place on March 17, when a 12-member Kerala-based quotation gang barged into the victim’s house in Somwarpet and unleashed violence. Jose's son Sabu was also seriously injured in the attack.

The gang kidnapped both from their house and left them stranded at Srimangala in the middle of the night. Four members of the gang were arrested by the Karnataka Police on the same day and three later by the Pulpally Police. The police in their preliminary report point to the dispute regarding Jose’s farm area as the triggering point of the violence.

The funeral ceremony will be held today at 3 pm at Marappanmoola (Payus Nagar) St. Stephen's Church Cemetery. Jose leaves behind his wife Annamma, and Children: Sabu Jose, Santosh Jose. Daughter-in-law: Chinchu.
