'Reels featuring luxury cars and jewellery; smuggled crores abroad'; More complaints surface against Parvathy Maya

KOCHI: More complaints surfaced against Parvathy Maya Shaji, the Managing Director of Amster Overseas Private Limited, who was arrested for a multi-crore rupee fraud involving job offers abroad. The complaints allege that Parvathy swindled lakhs of rupees by promising high-paying jobs in countries such as Poland, Armenia, and Canada. A significant portion of the money obtained through the fraud was collected via foreign bank accounts. Similar cases against her are also pending in other districts.

Police stated that establishments such as Amster Overseas, located near Changampuzha Park in Edappally, and Amster Immigration Overseas in Palarivattom did not possess licenses to conduct overseas recruitment. The agency had been carrying out these fraudulent activities via social media since 2023. Reels featuring them alongside luxury cars like Rolls-Royces and Parvathy decked out in expensive jewellery and clothing often went viral on social media. There are also complaints that Parvathy and her associates threatened job seekers who demanded a refund of their money.

Aneesh Menon (Parvathy's husband and the owner of the establishment), managers Abhijith Nair, Aju K. Mathew, and Vishnu Vijayan, as well as Parvathy's father, Shaji, are also accused in the case. The police said proceedings to bring the accused who are abroad back to the country have been initiated.
