rajesh-das

CHENNAI: Former DGP arrested on the complaint of his ex-wife that he tried to break into the house. The incident took place in Tamil Nadu. Former Special DGP Rajesh Das was arrested by the police. The action was taken on the complaint of IAS officer and Energy Department Secretary Beela Venkatesh.

After Rajesh Das was convicted in the case of trying to sexually assault an IPS officer, the marriage between the two got divorced. Rajesh Das lived in a bungalow of both of them. But when Rajesh Das went on the run, Beela Venkatesh bought a new lock and locked the bungalow and cut off the electricity. Beela complained that Rajesh, who came back, threatened the security guard and entered and stole the mobile phone.

The news that Beela Venkatesh cut off the electricity to Rajesh Das's house came out the other day. Rajesh Das came forward accusing Beela of abuse of power, but she responded that the land on which the house stands and the electricity connection are in her name. Beela also stated that the electricity was disconnected because she did not want to spend money unnecessarily.

The action was taken because Rajesh Das was given sufficient time to submit the proof of his residence in the house but did not respond. Beela said that they both took the loan to build the house. Meanwhile, a five-count case had been registered against Rajesh on Beela's complaint of trespassing in her house.

In 2023, the Villupuram trial court found Rajesh Das guilty of sexually assaulting an IPS officer in 2021. Petitions filed in the High Court against the verdict were also rejected. Rajesh Das filed a petition against this verdict but the Madras High Court dismissed it. Then approached the Supreme Court. The arrest of Rajesh Das was temporarily stayed on May 17 as the petition was pending before th

e court.
