THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of an operational trial, warning sirens will blare across Thiruvananthapuram city on Tuesday. The whole trial will be under the control of the State Disaster Management. As part of the Armored Warning System under the Disaster Management Authority, the operational testing of 85 sirens installed at the state level will take place on Tuesday. As part of this, sirens installed at eight places in Thiruvananthapuram district will sound at various times from morning on Tuesday.
Govt HS Karikkakom, Govt VHSS Kallara, GOVERNMENT UPS, Kizhuvilam, GOVERNMENT UPS VELLARADA, GOVERNMENT HSS Kattakada, GOVERNMENT V. H. S. S. Poovar, Mini Auditorium, Pozhiyoor, Govt H.S.S. Vithura will have sirens installed as part of the trial. The State Disaster Management Authority informed people not to panic hearing the sounds as it is just part of the trial.

With a cyclone scare looming over Marathwada, the State Disaster Management Authority has warned of a possibility of moderate rain with widespread thunder/lightning/wind (40-50 km/hr) over Kerala for the next 5 days.
The Indian Meteorological Department has also informed that heavy rain is possible at isolated places from today (June 10) to June 12.
