“142 crore Indians are being ignored to shield one person”: Priyanka lashes out at BJP in maiden speech

NEW DELHI: Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi lashed out at the BJP leadership in her first speech in the Lok Sabha. She also accused the BJP of taking a stand in favor of only one person, ignoring the 142 crore citizens of the country. Without mentioning Gautam Adani's name, she criticized the relationship between the ruling party and the businessman. Priyanka also said that the government is working for the profit of the billionaire.

Priyanka began her speech by paying tribute to those killed in the Parliament attack. She lashed out at the government raising the issues of Adani, farmers, Manipur and Sambhal. Wayanad MP also reiterated in the House that she will resist the attempts to subvert the Constitution with all her might.

Adani is supported by the government even when inflation and unemployment are affecting the people. The government has abandoned the farmers. Priyanka also said that the Modi government is ignoring the entire people of India for the sake of one person. The economy has weakened. She also mocked that the Modi government has become a washing machine government. With this the Speaker intervened. The Speaker reminded Priyanka that the discussion was about the Constitution.

Priyanka replied that she will protest strongly against cheating the constitution. Priyanka asked the ruling party whether they have the courage to hold elections through ballot paper.
