Attacker in Safi Ali Khan case does not have any Indian document, reached Mumbai months ago

MUMBAI: More information has surfaced about the intruder who attacked Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. Reports said the attacker of Bangladesh landed in Mumbai five months ago. The suspect's real name is Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad.

‘He has been identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad. Some items suggesting that he is from Bangladesh have been recovered from him. He came to India illegally and changed his name to Bijoy Das.

He does not have any Indian documents. A case has been registered under the Passport Act. The suspect entered the actor's house to commit robbery. He was working as a housekeeping staff in Mumbai,' Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam said.

The suspect was arrested from Thane in Maharashtra. The commissioner said that he is currently being questioned. The suspect arrived at Saif's Bandra West house in the early hours of last Thursday. This was the first time he had entered Saif's house.

The accused entered through the fire exit staircase at the back of Saif Ali Khan's house. The maid screamed when she saw the accused. Hearing the maid's screams, the actor ran to save his family and confronted the accused. In the meantime, he was stabbed. He is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.
