Pakistan wants to resolve ‘all issues, including Kashmir’ with India, says PM Shehbaz Sharif

KARACHI: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said they want to resolve all issues with India, including Kashmir, through talks. Pakistan Prime Minister informed that they are ready for the talks while addressing a special session of the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir Assembly in Muzaffarabad on the occasion of 'Kashmir Solidarity Day', an annual event organized by Pakistan to express support for the Kashmiris. India should fulfil the promises made to the United Nations and start a dialogue.

'As mentioned in the 1999 Lahore Declaration signed during the visit of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to Pakistan, the only way to resolve the deteriorating relations between India and Pakistan is through dialogue. The only way forward is peace. 'Self-determination' under the UN resolution is the only solution to the Kashmir issue,' said Shehbaz Sharif.

India's stance is that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will remain integral parts of the country. The country has repeatedly made it clear that there will be no compromise on this. After the abrogation of Article 370, which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir, the already strained relations between the two countries further deteriorated. Pakistan had once again raised the Kashmir issue at the UN.

India is continuing to take strong action against cross-border terrorism. Kashmir was able to hold peaceful elections. Pakistan, which is economically bankrupt, is now completely isolated internationally. Even the Taliban in Afghanistan, which they raised at great expense, has now started to retaliate. Along with this, the country's internal problems have also worsened.
