NEW DELHI: Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has accused the head of Bangladesh's interim government, Muhammad Yunus, of unleashing terrorists in the country. She said the killings in the country are part of Yunus' conspiracy to oust her from power.
Sheikh Hasina said that she will return and avenge the deaths of the policemen. She challenged Muhammad Yunus while participating in a Zoom meeting. Hasina called Yunus a 'mobster' and accused the interim government of unleashing terrorists to slaughter people.
‘They are destroying Bangladesh. I narrowly escaped death when my government was overthrown. By the grace of God, I was kept alive to do something good. I will return and ensure justice for all of you,' Hasina said.
Sheikh Hasina is presently in India. Hasina came to India seeking asylum after the student-led riots on August 5, 2024. Four policemen were killed when Hasina tried to suppress student protests in July-August last year. Recently, protesters vandalized the Dhaka residence of Hasina's father and founder, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
