'Fighters of Kannur, salutations to you: CPM workers hail convicts of Suraj murder case

KANNUR: CPM workers hail those convicted in the Suraj murder case. After the verdict, the workers raised slogans while the accused were being taken from the Thalassery court to the jail. The workers raised the slogan, "Venerable fighters, fighters of Kannur, salutations to you, salutations with blood-coloured flowers."

The workers hailed the accused while they were being taken in a vehicle. Hundreds of CPM workers had reached the court premises to hear the verdict.

Those who were convicted are not criminals for us: MV Jayarajan

CPM Kannur District Secretary MV Jayarajan said that we do not consider those who were convicted as criminals. "We will appeal against the verdict in the High Court. The investigation team has made even TP Raveendran, who was the area secretary, an accused in the case. People will not believe even if the accused say that they killed people," Jayarajan said.
