Drunken driving of KSU leader; luxury car hits several vehicles, child seriously injured

KOTTAYAM: Police have taken KSU leader Jubin Lalu Jacob into custody for dangerous driving after driving in a drunken manner. He hit several vehicles with a luxury car. Many people narrowly escaped an accident. Jubin is the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation Kottayam district president and a KSU leader at CMS College. He was taken into custody by the Kottayam West police.

The incident took place at around 5.45 pm yesterday. The Fortuner car driven by Jubin lost control and crashed into a tree near Ambadi Kavala. Jubin had come here because it was Freshers' Day at CMS College. The car first hit an auto and a scooter at the Chalukunnu bend and did not stop.

After that, a car that sped along the Medical College bypass hit a mother and her child, who were pedestrians, in Kudayampady. The child is seriously injured. Jubin crashed a Swift, WagonR car and a bike in Kudayampady. He hit and destroyed eight vehicles in a two-kilometre interval. During the inspection conducted by the police, a bottle of liquor and other intoxicants were found in the car.
