KOCHI: It was actor and contestant Devan who administered the oath to the office bearers who won the election of the Malayalam film stars' organisation AMMA. Devan responded that he will be supporting Shwetha in all activities. After winning, Shwetha told the media that from now on, controversies and criticisms are irrelevant, and everyone's support is needed.

Even before the election results were out, Devan had given great support to Shweta, who contested for the post of president. He had earlier responded that women should come forward by winning without reservation. Devan had told the media that if Shweta is the mother of the AMMA organisation, then he is the father.

The voting, which began at 10 am today at the Marriott Hotel in Kochi, ended at 1 pm. The results were announced at 4 pm. Shweta Menon was elected as the president. Kukku Parameswaran won the post of AMMA general secretary. Unni Sivapal was elected as the treasurer. Jayan Cherthala was elected as the vice president. Ansiba Hassan was earlier elected unopposed as the joint secretary.
