Major fire in Delhi restaurant; 20 killed, foreigners among dead

The Prime Minister has announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the families of those killed in the accident. We pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. All possible assistance will be provided to the affected. Financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh will be provided to the next of kin of the dead from the PMNRF. Rs 50,000 will be given to the injured,' said the office of the Prime Minister.

Another accident has occurred in the national capital after an LPG cylinder exploded in Delhi's Mukundpur area yesterday morning, causing the collapse of a building. 10 people were injured in the cylinder accident.

AAP leader Somnath Bharti also offered his condolences. ‘A major fire broke out in a multi-storied building in my assembly constituency, Hausrani, around 8.30 am today. There is a possibility of casualties. Most of them are South African citizens,’ Somnath Bharti said.

Eleven people injured have been admitted at the hospital. Police said the fire is under control and rescue operations had begun. A search was also launched for the remaining occupants of the restaurant.
