'She learned about her husband's affair with another actress, got separated and became active in acting field; later forgave him and got united with him'

Parting ways with someone we deeply love and consider our life partner can be extremely painful. But the joy of forgiving mistakes and reuniting is equally powerful. Veteran director Alleppey Ashraf recently opened up about important events in the lives of actress Priya Raman and actor Ranjith, as well as fresh updates about Malayalam cinema’s much-loved couple, Priyadarshan and Lissy.

"Priya Raman and Ranjith had a love marriage and were blessed with two children. Priya took a break from acting during this time. However, she later heard rumours about Ranjith’s relationship with another woman, which left her devastated. Despite her efforts to stop him, she failed. After 16 years of married life, the couple separated in 2015. To secure her children’s future, Priya returned to acting, while Ranjith went on to marry actress Ragasudha. However, that relationship too ended within a year. In a surprising turn, the two crossed paths at an award function in 2018. Ranjith presented an award to Priya on stage, and there, he proposed to her again. Thus, they reunited," said Ashraf.

“In Malayalam cinema, we are now seeing the possibility of a second innings in marriage. It is always heartwarming when couples who separated over not-so-serious issues come back together. The wall of differences between Priyan and Lissy has melted. Today, they share a good friendship and talk to each other with mutual respect. Even though they live apart, they make joint decisions about their children. When I asked Lissy if she had met Priyan recently, she said he had visited with Suresh Balaji, had breakfast at her house and then left. Neither of them has remarried. If they decide to come together again, it would be a good decision. Their daughter Kalyani is already shining bright in the film industry. We can hope for a day when Priyan gives Lissy a rose during a celebration, and Lissy rests her head lovingly on his chest. Let their marriage bloom once again,” Ashraf added.
