KOLLAM: NK Premachandran MP said that he is standing firm on the statement he made in connection with the Sabarimala women's entry issue. He also said that he is not bothered by the ongoing cyberattack against him. Earlier, Premachandran had sparked a controversy by saying that it was the police who took Rehna Fathima and Bindu Ammini to Sabarimala after serving them porotta and beef, and that it was the same government that later organised Ayyappa Sangamam in Pamba.
"Opposition Leader VD Satheesan and RSP state secretary Shibu Baby John had also said the same thing that I said. Yet, they never faced the kind of cyberattacks I am facing now. I stand by my statement. It was Shibu Baby John who first said that Rehna Fathima and Bindu Ammini were served porotta and beef at the Kottayam Police Club before being taken to Sabarimala. VD Satheesan also repeated the same later. When they said it, there was no backlash. But now, the CPM’s cyber wing is leading an intense attack against me,” Premachandran said.
Premachandran made the controversial remarks during the concluding session of the 'Vishwasa Samrakshana Yatra' organised by the UDF against the Sabarimala gold theft. Lashing out at the Pinarayi Vijayan-led government, Premachandran said that by facilitating Rehna Fathima and Bindu Ammini’s entry into Sabarimala, the government hurt the faith of devotees and that the same Pinarayi Vijayan-led government and Home Department went on to organise the Ayyappa Summit at Pamba.
