KOCHI: Justice S Manikumar has been appointed as the new Chief Justice of Kerala High Court. The appointment was made following the retirement of former Chief Justice Hrishikesh Roy.
Currently, Justice Abdul Raheem is serving as the acting Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court. It was the collegium that nominated Justice Manikumar as the Chief Justice by the end of August.
Manikumar, who got enrolled in 1983, had practiced at Madras high court for 22 years. He has also served as the Central government's senior Standing Counsel and Assistant Solicitor General. He was appointed as an Additional judge at the Madras High Court in 2006. He became a permanent judge in 2009.
