THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Soon after the foreign visit of ministers including the chief minister, SFI leaders are planning for a pleasure trip. The government is sending union chairmen of 70 government colleges abroad for leadership skill. Majority of them are SFI leaders. Some from other student unions are also there. Training is in London. The college education department has released the order for flying to London next month.

This is for the first time in the history of the state college union chairmen are sent abroad. The incident had stoked a controversy when the project was planned. The order inviting applications from chairmen of Government Arts and Science College for training in Cardiff University has been issued. The department has directed to submit the details of all including passport. The overseas trip is meant for lead induction training as part of the advanced section of the higher education department, Flair. The full expenses are met by the government. This extravaganza is at a time when there are various training institutions in the country to improve leadership skills.
