THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A special resolution demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will be moved in the Kerala Legislative Assembly tomorrow. Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan will present the resolution under Rule 118. The LDF, the main opposition, will support the resolution.

This marks the first time in the country that a legislative assembly is moving a resolution seeking the removal of a Chief Election Commissioner. This crucial move by the Kerala Assembly comes amidst ongoing protests in Delhi—led by opposition parties and the CJP—demanding Gyanesh Kumar's removal.
