Sexual abuse after creating stories about son: Man arrested for abusing daughter-in-law

KOCHI: Man was arrested for sexually abusing daughter-in-law. Divakaran (67), of Korachal Pottakkaran house in Thrissur, was arrested by the police on the complaint of an Ernakulam native woman. He will be be taken in custody on the next day for further questioning.

The complainant woman's husband used to beat the woman under the influence of alcohol. At this time Divarakaran came to her aid. He told the woman that her husband is having another affair and wouldn't even hesitate to kill her. He promised to shelter her somewhere in Ernakulam and took her to a room in a tourist home near KSRTC stand. Later that night, he sexually abused her after threatening. The incident was in April of last year.

The accused was arrested by a police team led by central police inspector S. Vijayashankar on the direction of Ernakulam ACP K. Lalji.
