THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the closure of border roads from Kerala to Karnataka will be brought to the notice of the Central government. The CM said Karnataka's move was against the central government's guidelines that no state should impose any restrictions on inter-state travel.
Only those who have done a negative certificate in the RTPCR test were allowed to enter Karnataka. The state police chief has brought the matter to the notice of the Karnataka DGP. The Karnataka DGP assured that vehicles carrying essential items could be exempted from this requirement. The state will continue to liaise with the Government of Karnataka to resolve the issue in full.
DGP Loknath Behera had requested the Karnataka Police not to make RTPCR test mandatory for those crossing the border in connection with essential goods and services.
