PATHANAMTHITTA: A minor girl was sexually abused while undergoing treatment for Covid. The incident happened at the Covid primary treatment center in Pathanamthitta. A temporary employee identified as Binu of Chenneerkkara misbehaved with the girl on September 1.

The girl said Binu acted friendly and then spoke obscenely and touched her body badly.

The girl came for treatment after testing positive for Covid on August 27. She was discharged after turning negative on September 2. Instead of going home, she went to her close friend's house in Ranni. The hospital authorities had send her home in an auto.

Her mother lodged a complaint after she was found missing. The police in a probe traced her at her friend’s house. She was subjected to detailed counselling and on interrogation she informed the bad incident she experienced. A case was registered against Binu and arrested him after an investigation.
