Kerala records 4700 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, 66 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 4700 COVID-19 cases on Thursday. Among these, 4437 persons developed the disease through contact, including 205 cases without an identified source of infection. 18 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 40 health workers contracted the disease on Thursday.

4128 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 44,376 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 66 deaths due to the virus on Thursday with the toll rising to 40,855.

District wise breakup of positive cases:

Thiruvananthapuram 850, Ernakulam 794, Kozhikode 612, Thrissur 395, Kollam 375, Kannur 309, Kottayam 295, Alappuzha 215, Pathanamthitta 183, Wayanad 176, Idukki 159, Malappuram 136, Palakkad 104 and Kasaragod 97.

59,702 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
