THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI(M) State Secretary, MV Govindan, criticized the degenerate remarks by KPCC President, K Sudhakaran about Southern Kerala. Govindan said that Malayalaees must be seen as one people and not judge people on the basis of where they come from.

MV Govindan said that political parties must strive to unite the people. The population must be led by unifying them. And not to divide them as northerners and southerners. Criticizing people based on their region could lead to a contradiction among the population.

Meanwhile, K Sudhakaran has apologized for his controversial remarks about people living in North and South Kerala. He said that he was saying a folk story and did not intend to hurt anyone.

He said that if his words hurt anyone, then he will withdraw his statement.

K Sudhakaran alluded to north-south differences in political leadership by saying a folktale. He said that while Rama, Sita, and Laxman were returning from Lanka on the Pushpaka Vimana, Laxman had an evil thought. He suddenly felt an urge to push Rama out of the Vimana and take Sita.

However, after they flew past above Thrissur, Laxman began to feel guilty about his thought. Rama sensing the thoughts of his brother said not to worry about it. He told Laxman that the fault is not with him but lies with the land that they passed.
