THRISSUR: A retired teacher was found murdered in her home at Ganeshamangalam. Her gold ornaments were stolen. The dead is Vasantha (76), a native of Ganeshamangalam in Thrissur. The incident happened Thursday morning at 7 am.
A police team led by Kodungalloor DySP Saleesh N Sankar arrested the accused identified as Mani alias Jayarajan (68) of Ganeshamangalam in Wadanapally.
The victim’s gold was recovered from his house. The injury seen in her head during the commotion is the reason for her death. Vasantha’s body was seen on the verandah at the back of her house. A fish seller saw a person, a resident of the area, jumping the wall. The police took him into custody and interrogated him. He had confessed to the crime. The teacher was staying alone.
Vasantha’s gold chain was recovered from his house. The accused knew that she was staying alone in the house.
