GUWAHATI: Rohit Sharma’s celebration after scoring a century the other day garnered significant attention among cricket fans. However, no one has yet been able to decipher its meaning. Rohit clarified that it is a personal matter which he does not intend to share.
After completing his century off 72 balls, Rohit celebrated jubilantly by leaping and raising his arms in the air. When asked about the celebration after the match, Rohit said he wished to keep it a secret. He was eventually dismissed after scoring 101 runs off 75 balls. During this innings, which included 10 fours and six sixes, he also built a 255-run opening partnership with Shubman Gill.
During the match, Rohit achieved another significant milestone. He became the seventh batter to cross the 12,000-run mark in ODI cricket and the third Indian player—after Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli—to reach this feat. Rohit has 35 centuries and 62 half-centuries in ODIs. He also climbed to the seventh spot on the list of highest run-scorers in ODIs.
In his post-match comments, Rohit revealed that Ravindra Jadeja had asked him about the celebration, and he assured his teammate that he would reveal it inside the dressing room. However, he added that the celebration was a personal matter known only to him.
