Stranger tracked Anila after she fled spot after hitting Anjana with car, alerted police; shocking information of eyewitness emerges

WASHINGTON: The information provided by an eyewitness have emerged in connection with the murder of Anjana Hari of Thrissur, in Milpitas, California. Milpitas police are questioning Anila of Moonnilavu in Kottayam, who was arrested in the incident. Reports say that she has confessed to the crime.

Police received information about the accident on August 28 afternoon at Mill Creek Apartments, located at 440 Dixon Landing Road in Milpitas. The police were informed that a blue SUV had struck a female pedestrian near Building F of the apartment complex. The officers immediately rushed to the spot and at that time, Anjana was lying in the parking lot with severe head injuries and bleeding profusely. Paramedics tried to save her life, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

The three vehicles parked near where Anjana was lying had damage to their sides. Meanwhile, police were informed by a caller that a blue SUV was seen being driven away recklessly. The caller also informed the police that immediately after a police patrol vehicle passed by, the SUV was parked in the parking area in Milpitas Boulevard. The caller continued to monitor the vehicle until police arrived.

When the police arrived and examined the spot, they found that the front of the SUV was completely damaged. Officers tried to question Anila, who was sitting inside the vehicle, but she failed to respond. Police said that her statements were contradictory. They also noticed injuries and bloodstains on her arms and legs. During investigation, the police understood that the suspect and the woman dead were friends.

According to one eyewitness, the car was deliberately driven into Anjana and continued moving without stopping after hitting three other vehicles. Other witnesses said they saw a blue car speeding towards the area and later saw a woman lying on the road. Some also informed police that the vehicle was driven by a woman of Indian origin.

An eyewitness who had parked a car in the area said Anjana was seen approaching the vehicle carrying a bag. The witness thought that the driver was either the woman's friend or an Uber driver. The witness told police that when the woman came closer, the vehicle suddenly accelerated and struck her.

Traffic officers who examined the spot also found no skid marks indicating that the driver had applied the brakes immediately before hitting the woman. Based on this finding and the eyewitness accounts, investigators concluded that Anila had deliberately driven the car into Anjana. The police have recorded the arrest of Anila. She has been charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder. If convicted, she could face up to 25 years in prison, say reports.
