DIWALI CELEBRATIONS

ABU DHABI: Indians, including those living abroad, are busy preparing for the Diwali celebrations, set for today and tomorrow. In the United Arab Emirates, expatriates are in the midst of finalising their preparations. However, many are concerned about the inclement weather and fear it may dampen the celebrations.

UAE experienced heavy rainfall last week, with some areas even witnessing hailstorms. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts that the weather in the UAE on Sunday will be clear to partly cloudy. Authorities have noted that while clouds may appear in some northern and eastern regions, rain is unlikely.

Moderate winds are expected, blowing from the southeast to the northeast. There is a warning that the wind may occasionally intensify; while speeds are generally expected to range between 10 and 25 km/h, they could reach up to 35 km/h at times.

The weather in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah will be mostly clear during the day. Maximum temperatures in the country could reach up to 38 degrees Celsius. Temperatures are expected to be 35 degrees Celsius in Abu Dhabi, and 36 degrees Celsius in both Dubai and Sharjah. Temperatures may drop to 24 degrees Celsius in Sharjah, 25 degrees Celsius in Abu Dhabi, and 26 degrees Celsius in Dubai. Authorities have also stated that the sea will remain calm in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
