Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, the 42-year-old American epidemiologist, is set to become the first muslim senator in United States history. Sayed ran a campaign that focused on bringing down costs for working families and corporate influence in politics.
Sayed was also part of former President Joe Biden’s Unity Task Force for Healthcare in 2020. Sayed’s work has earned him the 'public official of the year' award once. Earlier, Republican candidate Rogers, along with his party legions, had framed Sayed as a fringe element, allegedly having involvement in the Muslim Brotherhood and radical groups. However, Sayed denied having any such connections.
