TEHRAN: Iran has officially confirmed that the wife of the current Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, was killed in a joint attack carried out by the United States and Israel. The confirmation was made public through an official announcement regarding the funeral ceremonies of the former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which stated that the wife of Mojtaba Khamenei is among those being buried.

Meanwhile, official sources indicated that the current Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei will not be participating in the funeral ceremonies due to pressing security reasons. The mortal remains currently placed for public viewing include those of the former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, his daughter, his son-in-law, his grandchild, and his daughter-in-law.

Millions of citizens have been pouring in to pay their last respects, with officials expecting the total turnout for the public viewing to reach between 15 million and 20 million people. The scheduled gathering of Iran's entire political and military leadership at the funeral service has further escalated security concerns.

According to Iranian authorities, representatives from more than 100 nations attended the public viewing ceremony. The international turnout included participation from Saudi Arabia, alongside delegations from Qatar and Oman. India was represented at the ceremony by a delegation led by the Governor of Bihar.
